Our History

Robert C. Pitts in San Jose, California, specializing in the business of re- manufacturing power brake units, founded Power Brake Exchange, Inc., dba Brake Supply, in 1959. In 1994 Power Brake Exchange opened a second facility in Los Angeles, California to help service our existing customer base and our continual new business accounts. In 2016 we opened our 3rd facility in mound house, Nevada.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Charles Pitts, began working for the business in the early 60’s. He now holds the title of CEO of the Corporation. He has over 55 years of experience in this business and has become one of the most renowned experts in this field.

Power Brake Exchange, Inc. is now going into its fourth generation with Charles Pitts Jr. as President, and Tim Pitts as Production Manager, and Travis Pitts ( Tim’s Son ) is the quality control manager in Carson City. Charles Pitts Jr., Tim Pitts and Travis Pitts will continue in this business tradition in the up coming years, following in their Great Grandfather, Grandfather and Fathers footsteps.

The 00’s have brought many changes to this industry and Power Brake Exchange has met the challenges. With the creation of one of the most- up-to-date catalog and our highly trained personnel, Power Brake Exchange is ready for any future challenges such as, being able to remanufacture Power Steering Components such as Rack and Pinion, Power Steering Pumps, and Gear Boxes, We also remanufacture hard to find calipers, proportioning valves and other hydraulic components along with continuing to supply a quality remanufactured power brake unit. In the upcoming year Power Brake Exchange is coming out with a brand new Brake Booster Program.
